Kindhearted, dignity, cherish the memory

"Lusena" means tears in the Paiwan language, and "adau" means sun. Back in the ancient times, the sun was once sat in the nearby sky and hung by the ridge of a roof. The blazing heat of the sun made all the living organsims suffer. As result, the riverbeds dried up and crops failed. People discussed the possible solution of pushing the sun higher up, which would help turn the sun into an unreachable object that could never melt. People then started to cook five millets for the boiled steam to push the sun further away in the sky. Soon afterwards, the steam became water droplets and fell onto the ground. This successful solved the disaster of the blazing heat and cooled down the earth. Once again, the earth awoke and brought back to life. Later on, people called the water droplets as "sun's tears of longing".
